About the client

SenseGlove is a small startup in Yes!Delft, focused on providing a fully immersive the Virtual Reality experience. By designing a VR controller glove that provides the users with haptics and force feedback, they enable them to touch digital objects and use them as if they were real.

Our design challenge was to design a smaller controller than their original product. This concept is meant to be a wireless and more affordable device using similar technology. We also focussed on hygiene, sustainability and user comfort.

My responsibilities in this project

My main role in this project was researching and implementing the VR Feedback technology and topology optimisation. Next to this I made the renderings of the design in Blender3D and shot and edited the presentation video.

VR Feedback Technology

Analysis of sensitivity, preference and realism of vibrations on hand.

The design was optimised using Solidworks physics simulations to withstand 40N of force applied by the finger, whilst remaining as lightweight a component as possible.
